Taking the opportunity to experiment with modeling in SketchUp, I enrolled in a design competition sponsored by the Bee Breeders/Buildner organization seeking designs for a wheelchair-accessible walkway and observation tower overlooking a nature reserve and wetland. The winning entry was to be actually constructed, so I approached the design with a mindufulness of constructability and budget constraints as well as sensitivity to the fragility of the wetland environment.
